I left Washington, DC on a road trip on Friday (June 4) and made it to NM (destination #1) by Sunday just after noon (MDT). I took a northern route driving through Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. It’s about an 1900 mile trip and it went pretty well.

After a night in Albuquerque staying with and visiting friends, I traveled yesterday afternoon to Santa Fe where I’m writing this. I’ve got my tent set up in the back yard of a friend. I hope to visit Ten Thousand Waves today as well as make final prep for a trip to Chaco and Canyon de Chelly starting tomorrow morning (at the crack of dawn).

I won’t post again until after that trip when I can report on it. It should be special.
